RANT WARNING skip if you don't want to read it

ok so i had a run with a friend where the great khan spawned(awakened) next to me. I crushed him easily however he managed to briefly conquer 2 of my systems. this was an issue as one of those systems had my main production planet for alloys in it. the system had also another energy producing planet. now the great khan went in quickly killed the ring but my fleets got there in time before he could take my planets. now i sit there with 2 ruined orbital rings which take up my megastructure build capacity if i want to restore them. But wait for WHATEVER reason my game bugged out and decided that each orbital ring counted twice so i sit with 4 ruined orbital rings now. But WAIT this happened to 2 other planets too so now i sit with 8 ruined orbital rings. AND IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH the game bugs out again and when i restore the orbital ring over the ecumonopolis it bugs out again and says there is no orbital ring even though i can't built an orbital ring even though there is none. Also if i want to restore all orbital rings i would sit there for almost 16 years before i could start building an actuall megastructure.

If you don't want to read the rant
my suggestion is the following:

if you wanna keep the mechanic of orbital rings being ruined please 1 don't make restoring them take up a megastructure slot and 2. instead delete them completely so one is forced to rebuild them

though in my opinion its an outdated mechanic which doesn't add anything to the game and "ruined orbital ring" should be removed

It's amazing that a mechanic that's, what, a year old, is "outdated." That word you're using, I do not think it means what you think it means.

They shouldn't take up a Megastructure slot of course, but also, "They add nothing" is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. They're a way to cheaply upgrade a planet. Or, alternatively, you could literally just ignore them because there's no penalty to just having one around.

Oh im sorry of course ruined orbital rings do add so much to the game I like that instead of building a new one to replace the old i have to waste 2 years of my megastructure build capacity i also like how apparently if the orbital ring on your main ecumonoplies gets destroyed and your alloy production is reduced by a solid 25 percent its of no consequence since just leaving the orbital ring around doesn'T give one any penalties (this is of course ignoring that now your ecumonopolis can'T have an orbital ring around it and with that your alloy production on that planet sinks by 25 % or more and if that the onyl planet producing alloys).

In all seriousness the mechanic that orbital rings become "ruined" after a crisis attacks them i find very poorly thought out since it just makes the reconquest just more frustrating. Go and tell me in all seriousness that when a crisis just took your main production center and you managed to reconquer the system with no pops purged or with minimal delay you're happy that you now have to rebuilt the orbital ring with a megastructure built slot. i was in the middle of building a mega shipyard and had to wait 3 years before i even could start with the repair of the ruined orbital ring. in my opinion it would be better if the orbital ring just self destructed after a crisis destroyed it instead of it becoming "ruined" it would simulate the repair after a devastating occupation better than the current system also since you think this mechanic is so valuable to the game please tell me unironically what makes it so great. In my opinion its just a frusting mechanic that added to a frustrating situation
